About Me
Krystal Sunny Chen (she/her) was called to birth work after experiencing the meaningful impact of doula support during her own pregnancy and profound homebirth in 2021.
Sunny supports families of all backgrounds and birth preferences by providing tools for informed decision making, resilience building and comfort measures. She also cooks nourishing postpartum meals and provides guidance with infant feeding so that families can feel supported and nurtured in the early days of parenthood. Her goal is for clients to feel safe, empowered, and deeply cared for throughout their perinatal journey.
She trained with Carriage House Birth in 2023 and currently studying for her Certified Lactation Counselor (CLC) certification. She is a volunteer doula at NYU Langone Long Island and a member of the NYC Doula Collective.
Born in Arizona to Taiwanese immigrants, Sunny spent her formative years in China, Japan, and California before planting roots in New York in 2012. Prior to becoming a doula, she worked in product management developing strategy and vision—skills now applied to empower growing families. She lives with her spouse, their effervescent toddler and cat in Park Slope, Brooklyn.
